THE ANCIENT ART OF SHIRT MAKING FROM NAPLES COMES TO NEW YORK

Today I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting someone who hails from Naples, Italy, and is specialized in the ancient art of tie and shirt making: Monica Pantaleo. Here is what she explained to me about her sartorial work and company:
“The FuMo USA Corporation is a company that was founded in the United States, in 2013, with two registered brands: FuMo Bespoke and 7folds by
“FuMo Bespoke is the branch of the company that deals with bespoke shirts for men, women, and children.
“Maybe you are thinking ‘Nothing new….’ And yet our method is unique!
“Thanks to our origins, I had the opportunity of studying at the School of Mediterranean Fashion, which imparts an ancient design known by few: the paper shirt!
“For every customer, after taking 17 measurements for men and 20 for women, I design a paper pattern that is completely customized and I assemble it for the first fitting.
“The paper shirt is my compass and the realization of a perfect garment!
“I carry out this work in my New York showroom, then I send them the model to Naples, Italy, where it is made by hand (up to 8 steps as seen on our website).
“Regarding ties, we suggest the ancient seven fold made with fine silk twill of 36 oz., all handmade and produced in limited editions.”
